Moen Bathroom Faucets Polished Brass
How do I repair a Moen bathroom Faucet?
I have a bathroom faucet of the INS720 type. It’s 20 years old and I’m not sure where to look for the exact model number. It’s similar to this one, but older.

The faucet wasn’t used for some weeks and locked up. I removed plastic cap and the pieces and sprayed lubricant. Now whenever the water source is on, it forces the handle up and causes the water to run on its own.
How can I fix this? Thanks.
I’ve been doing maintenance and repairs in residential and commercial buildings since 1978. Whenever I encounter a Moen faucet that doesn’t work correctly, I remove it and put in a new one of a different brand. Even long time, experienced plumbers around here say that the Moens are so difficult to repair that it’s usually less expensive to put in a new Delta, Peerless, Sterling, Koehler or whatever brand is readily available. The important thing is that repair parts are readily available. I’ve had trouble getting repair parts for some of the Home Cheepo stuff.
