How old must a puppy be?

How old must a puppy be before you can give it a bath? I have a very small ten week old miniature schnauzer and he went out to play with my other large dogs in the yard and got filthy. I don’t want to do anything that might harm him so I am asking if it is safe to give the little guy a bath in the kitchen sink? Thank you for your answers.

It’s alright to give your dog a bath. With vet’s permission I had to give a 2 or 3 week old puppy a bath because I had seen some fleas on them and I didn’t think that was so safe so the vet gave me permission to bath the pup with dawn and that it was safe enough. But your puppy is old enough to have baths. Just make sure that the water and soap don’t get into the dogs ears.
